Jardins da Yoba was founded with the purpose of contributing to the strengthening of Angolan agriculture through the production of high-quality improved seeds. Throughout its history, the company has expanded its operations and consolidated an integrated model that articulates production, research, processing, technology, and strategic cooperation. Today, we position ourselves as an agro-industrial ecosystem driven by technical knowledge and a long-term vision, combining field experience with continued investment in productive capacity, technical development, and solutions applied to the specific needs of the sector. We are committed to a long-term commitment to the sustainable development of Angolan agriculture, translated into gains in productivity, quality, and efficiency throughout the value chain.

Foundation
Acquisition of the Mucuma Farm
Jardins da Yoba began its operations with the acquisition of the Mucuma Farm, in the municipality of Chibia, in the province of Huíla — the starting point of a structured agricultural project.
In the first years, the focus was on installing essential infrastructure: irrigation systems, water intake, operational units, and storage capacity. The Mucuma reservoir was one of the first major works — the water base for the entire operation.
In parallel, the first production fronts were developed, focusing on potatoes and corn, as well as the first citrus fruit growing projects.

Conservation
Conservation Center - Chibia
Installation of the conservation and storage center in Chibia — with dedicated cold storage chambers — consolidating post-harvest processing capacity and ensuring quality and traceability throughout the value chain.
An essential infrastructure for the commercial viability of the operation, built before joining the National Seed Program.

National Seed Program and first orchards
With the consolidation of operations, we expanded production areas, reinforced irrigation capacity, and moved towards new structuring stages, including units dedicated to processing, conservation, and selection.
In 2016, with integration into the National Seed Program, we began the certification process and consolidated our position in the production of improved seeds, deepening the company’s technical specialization.
Installation of the first citrus orchards in Chibia — Washington Navel orange trees, January 2016. First large potato harvests in Angolan red soil.
In 2019, introduction of new citrus varieties — including Cambria — and geographic expansion to new multiplication blocks, strengthening institutional and international relations.

CENTER IN HUMPATA
Production center in Humpata
The company already operated a seed production and improvement center in Humpata, three multiplication farms in the municipality of Chibia, and a multiplication block at the Chivemba farm in Cunene.

EXPANDED STRUCTURE
Four farms in operation.
In 2022, the operation was structured around four farms — Humpata, Maheque, Mucuma, and Chaungo — with activity concentrated in Chibia and Humpata, complemented by productive partnerships in Chivemba and Tandanda.
In recent years, Jardins da Yoba has deepened its activities in research and development, scientific cooperation, practical training, field days, and knowledge transfer, strengthening its links with research institutions, universities, and development entities.
